Stefán Jónsson

Stefán Jónsson is an Icelandic artist born in Akureyri in 1964. He completed his art education at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and the School of Visual Arts in New York, earning his MFA in 1994. In his exhibition “Það kalla ég rart,” Stefán showcases approximately 50 artworks and 15 custom t-shirts created over the last 15 months. Every piece depicts common Icelandic birds, crafted using photographs cut into vinyl film and mounted on various wood panels or pressed onto paper and cotton shirts.
